Great video of the Rotweiller and the chihuahua. My son used to have a chihuahua. He went to visit a friend of his who had a Great Dane. He looked up to check and there was Sophie, the chihuahua, with her back feet hanging out of the Great Dane's mouth. No violence. Just a firm message.

Firmness gets better results than violence.

I take your point, but the video loses me a bit as it was AI generated.

It's the message that counts.

LOL! Here's to the Rottweilers! (Although I hate seeing any helpless animal tossed in a pool.)

Only when they deserve it! And chihuahuas can really get on your nerves!

" But we can hit the streets. We can roar that enough is enough. We can boycott exploitative companies and corporate media. We can go on a general strike. We give those in power a damn good scare. We can vote the bastards out of office."

Absolutely!, But the only thing that will do the job is voting them out of office. If we don't do that, don't waste your time with any of the rest. The chihuahuas are unfazed by the theatrics of boycotts, rallies and all the rest. All that matters to them is that they keep their seats in the chambers of power; and that's guaranteed unless we vote them out of office.

The problem is whom to vote into office. Any suggestions?

My suggestion as I've bee preaching it and doing it for the past 25 years is to vote for "alternative party" candidates rather than the Repulsive Party or DemoRAT Party bunch of scalawags. And I've been told by everybody that my votes were wasted as they have no chance of winning. My reply to them: As long as you keep the R's and D's in power, don't expect progressive change for the people's benefit." And that goes for my senators and congressman/women as well.

Love the dog story too, Diane!

It's to find an alternative in the alternatives as they lose their way and betray their original principles (if anyone in politics has principles, that is) once they get a taste of power, the Green Party in Germany being a case in point.

Unfortunately, you're correct about the Green Party in Germany. That "green" witch is now a member in the European Union, and so anti-Russian she'd chance a world war with the Russkie's to please her handlers.

If you're referring to Witch #1 Ursula von der Leyen, she was a member of the Christian Democratic Union government and Defense Minister. Witch #2 Analena Baerbock, who was the leader of the Green Party and Foreign Minister under Scholz, is now President of the UN General Assembly. I don't know if you read this: https://dianeengelhardt.substack.com/p/annalena-baerbock-bridge-builder

I was referring to Baerbock, which is why I called her the "green (party)witch", as she opposes Green Party key issues, especially when that was founded by Germans. On Ursula...another aspiring war monger, and both women lost or gave up their femininity or female principals to show the male gender they can be just as tough and violent as the boys. But hey, here in Imperial Amerika, we have plenty of androgenous and hateful women as well willing to risk world war three.

I guess all the toxic chemical used in plastics contaminated their blood streams, altering their chromosomes. ???

Sadly, I have only two good candidates, but neither is willing. (And I am not willing.) Lacking good candidates and knowing how embedded in our political culture the two major parties are, I have only one suggestion. Unfortunately, it is not a quick solution and would take considerable time to implement, but it could work.

The strategy is to vote against and remove all incumbents at each election. This would result in a complete turnover of public officials. (It's the equivalent of single term limits.) Needless to say, the opposing party would win on the first round, but the win would be short lived as they would lose in the next round two years later. Secondly, a mass revolt of this kind would remove much of the influence of money in our elections as most money is spent on reelecting incumbents. Assuring that incumbents will lose and mitigating the power of the parties will hopefully inspire decent candidates to surface.

Like I said, it's not a quick fix. But the problem has been years in the making and it's going to take time to fix it.

There is a fringe benefit to this strategy. Corruption is rampant in our government and the longer a public official is in office, the more proficient in corruption he/she becomes. (Donald Trump obviously learned most of the "tricks of the trade" during his first term in office.) By ensuring that elected officials serve no more than one term, it limits their skills for "milking" the system for their personal benefit.

Donald Trump came into office with a big bag of tricks learned from his father and the real estate business. He was probably born a shyster! My first suggestion would be to get money out of the election process: no lobbies, no corporate or billionaire donors, no PACs. Every candidate is allocated a limited and equal budget from public money. Then they'd have to work to get elected! That might keep the shysters out of the race to begin with.

"Donald Trump came into office with a big bag of tricks learned from his father and the real estate business. He was probably born a shyster! "

Indeed he did, and was a shyster at birth like his father and draft dodging grandfather before him. But he learned enough during his first term to make him the world's number 1 grifter. (No one is his peer when it comes to corruption.)

As for getting money out of politics, that's wishful thinking. SCOTUS has blessed the purchase of our elections by the well heeled and nothing short of a Constitutional amendment will change that - and that's wishful thinking, too.

It's impossible to eliminate the influence of money in politics, but it can be mitigated. Not by law, but by citizen action - vote against the money . Whoever gets the most money, vote against them - and since that's usually the incumbent, the anti-incumbent voting strategy can work.

The fundamental problem is that you and I cannot change SCOTUS's opinion nor can we amend our Constitution. But we can vote; and if we don't vote smart, we lose.

We need a sane, powerful force at this time more than ever to stop these criminal elements who have infiltrated all our public and political institutions. Bottom line is the West is going down!
