The silence of the anti-war and environmental movements together with celebrities in times like these is shameful! People had better wake up and speak up because we are at the brink of World War III.

Where are the concerts for Gaza? Or are these Big Name musicians and bands afraid that record companies would cancel recording contracts like Bertelsmann did to Roger Waters? Where are the Nobel Literature Laureates and best selling novelists, or are they worried about losing their publishing contracts, and their chances of winning another big literary award or movie deal? And who dares to speak out against the potential for the war in Ukraine to escalate into world war, or are people too afraid of being labelled a Russian agent or Putin apologist? And what celebrity isn't more interested in making money than sticking their neck out?

What do you read? Anti war, environmental groups and even some celebrities have been speaking up. The people who are pushing for world war 3 don't care. At all.

The only ones who've been making any waves are the courageous university students. If it weren't for them, the silence would be deafening.

If you check out cjpme.org, you will see events that are happening across Canada. There are many demos organized by the Palestinian Youth Movement, but there are others as well. I also wish that there were more celebrities speaking out and loudly. The mainstream papers never report on any of the demos. There was a teeny report once on CTV but it was not really in depth. There are unions speaking out against what is happening in Gaza. Even the NDP is starting to make a few squeaks. Let's hope they get louder.

I do know for a fact Susan Sarandon has been very vocal in her support for Palestine and has been at some of the marches for Palestine with Palestinian movements in NYC and Washington D.C. Also this Friday Gerald Celente, Scott Ritter, Judge Napolitano among others are having a Peace & Freedom rally in New York(not NYC). So there are a lot of people waking up to what the U.S. and Israel are doing. It’s not difficult for people to see the atrocities happening before their very eyes if they choose to see it and not watch/listen to the WMSM.

Yes, I think you are probably right. I get the impression it is "a lot" of people speaking up because I am on 3 lists that oppose war and especially what is happening in the Middle East right now. I agree tho, that not nearly enough people are speaking up, but I am glad to see more unions taking a stand against war. What would make me most relieved would be if our world leaders started speaking out against Netanyahu and his cronies.

Please allow me to build on your wonderful poem. I dedicate it to Palestinians.

Silence is not seen,

It is heard by those who cry,

Just before they die.

I thank-you for using your art and creativity to improve the lives of children in desperate need of more international empathy and less nightly violence on their small fragile bones.

They do make tangible differences. And remember that there are many tangible differences that you may not see.

A seventeen year vow of silence, after observing an environmental disaster.

He did so to learn how to listen.

Another purpose for silence.

Thank you for the thoughtful, thought provoking poem.

Netanyahu said the Palestinians are Amalek? According to the Talmud "god" authorized the geouze to kill ALL the of them, men women children, their dogs, cats, cows, trees,... for the zionatzis/ evangelicals if the effing god ordered such; then Netanyahu is just following orders? The problem is the Talmudist also consider America to be Edom, which also deserves to wiped out from the earth.
