There Are No Words

There are no words.
Only rubble, ashes,
twisted metal, rotting debris, 
dust.

There are no words:
Only blood, corpses,
broken bones, torn limbs,
wounds.

There are no words:
Only orphans, widows,
broken families, ruptured lives,
graves.

There are no words:
Only cries, screams,
endless tears, desperate moans,
pleas.

There are no words:
Only sorrow, terror,
lost hope, silent despair,
trauma.

In all this destruction,
in all this pain,
in all this suffering,
in all this loss,
there is one word:
STOP!
